My first award!

The other day, I posted that I was attending the Haitian Orphans Wish (H.O.W.) charity boat ride in support of Haitian orphans.

I was extremely surprised to receive the Haitian Orphans Wish (H.O.W.) Toussaint Louverture Award in recognition of my support for the orphaned children of Haiti. This was my first time receiving an award for my community efforts. It was a great feeling! I only wish I knew; I would have prepared brief comments (Next time!).

The longevity of H.O.W. (10 years), shows their commitment and passion to providing aid to the children of Haiti. So, if you are looking for a new organization to support, I suggest them!

Go on a cruise for Haiti’s orphans: July 6th, World’s Fair Marina

Do you give back to your community?  I was encouraged by my mother at a young age to be involved in my community. Since my early days as a public library volunteer and hospital candy striper, I have been actively involved with many non-profits and organizations.

Haitian Orphan Wish (H.O.W) is one non-profit organization that I have been involved with since its inception in 2003.  They are an organization that addresses the issues of orphaned children in Haiti by providing financial assistance to orphanages and organizations that seek their help. It is exciting to see all the great work H.O.W has done over the years for the orphans of Haiti.

You too can get involved and make a difference!

Tomorrow, Saturday July 6th, join H.O.W. for its 8th Annual Cruise for Haiti’s Orphans. Donation is $65.00 and includes Haitian cuisine, dessert, soft drinks; cash bar is available.  Music and entertainment will be provided by RudyMix.

This is a great opportunity to cruise along the beautiful shores of New York, dance to great music, mingle with wonderful people, and support a great cause!
