Help under-served girls obtain a STEM degreeCommunity

Supporting your community comes in various forms. Depending on my time and finances, I often volunteer or donate to various organizations that I feel are making an impact. If I cannot financially support an organization, I use my blog and social media as a platform to spread the word about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

The daughter of the founder of Haitian Orphans Wish, started a non-profit organization that is gaining traction – STEM from Dance. STEM from Dance, winner of the 2013 Teach for America Social Innovation Award, harnesses the power of dance to empower under-served girls in obtaining a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) degree.

Sunday September 15 at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline for their fundraising campaign. As of today, they have raised 6,780 dollars! Their goal is to reach 8,320 dollars.

If you feel that young girls deserve the chance to be represented in STEM, I urge you to donate to this campaign. If you cannot financially contribute, you can spread the word. Word of mouth is still one of the most effective marketing strategies. Tell a friend, forward this blog post to your email contacts, and/or  share on social media.

Here is the web link to the campaign:  and a video that they put together.

Every dollars helps!
